Ms. Dawn Pelletier
I am excited to be serving Parkwood Elementary this year as your gifted specialist!
Teaching and learning are two of my greatest passions, so I consider it a privilege to work with students to promote their academic, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Encouraging critical thinking, promoting creativity and problem solving, and advocating for my students are responsibilities that are important to me.
I am a proud product of Onslow County Schools, having attended Dixon schools for second through twelfth grade. My teaching career has now spanned more than 30 years. Over that period, I have had the opportunity to teach students at Blue Creek Elementary, Southwest Elementary, Dixon Elementary, and Meadow View Elementary schools before being welcomed to Parkwood. I taught third and fourth grades prior to joining the OCS Gifted Services team as a specialist in 2007.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I relax by reading, hanging out with my pets, and taking long walks. I am a huge fan of puzzles and games of all kinds and like to experiment with new foods/recipes.
I am looking forward to a successful year!
