Assistant Principal

Hello, I’m LaWanda Jones. I am honored to be your Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. I have 20 years of experience in education.  I have taught Health and Physical Education as well as held the position of School Counselor. 

I am an Onslow County native. I graduated from Jacksonville High School. My undergraduate degree is in Exercise Sports Science with a concentration in Sociology.  I have Master’s degrees in School Administration, School Counseling and Health Promotion Education.  I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

I believe strong positive relationships are imperative to student success. Therefore, I am eager to partner with Mrs. Bond, the Parkwood staff, parents and community members to ensure every student feels valued and supported.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports at all levels.  I also enjoy photography. 

I am excited to be joining the Parkwood family!
